"bla bla car"

I just recently signed up as a user of "bla bla car" that slowly gets more and more popularity here in Italy. 

It took me over one year to take the step and sign in. 

My first try was to give a lift to other people travelling with me from Milan to Rimini. 
I found the application and website user friendly, and I could actually get payed directly on line. Not to mention that I know who is going to be with me according their "bla bla car" profile, or by Facebook profile.

So I took two ladies and one young man with me. We left early in the morning in order to avoid traffic  but got jammed right in the middle. What I thought was 4 hour trip turned nearly 7 hours of driving, with over +30°C. At this point I must thank for the air co developers. 

I also took people back in the end of the weekend, and had another try travelling with other people letting them to drive. Most drivers seem to be really friendly and helpful to pick me up places out of their route, and leave me as close as possible to the place I'm heading at. But no one is a taxi driver, and it is totally out of the question to let anyone seek places behind the back of god. 

My Experience until now is positive. 
I can trust these people by reading the opinion of other co-travellers and choose out of many possibilities. It is also a new opportunity to meet new people and learn to know their interests. It is truly bla bla the whole trip. 
Some times we have friends in common. 

Bla bla car actually was born in France and developed by Vincent Caron as Covoiturage, and in 2006 bought by Frederic Mazzella turning in to bla bla car. It seems to operate in 22 countries. (source: wikipedia)

So how does it actually work? 
First I signed in with my pc and then downloaded an application to my smartphone. 
Then I seek for trips I'm interested in and make questions to the driver, such as place of pick up. Once we have a deal, I pay my part of the trip with the credit card I gave in during the registration progress. Also pay pall is  accepted. The amount of the trip is based on popularity of the driver, car he use and the length of the trip. Then I just wait the date to arrive and go with it.
